Irving Lead Paint Removal offers lead paint removal and abatement in Euless, together with lead risk assessments of lived-in homes and units, lead-safe repairs for rental owners, and dust cleaning with clearance testing. Each job starts by finding out where lead-based paint is and whether it is a hazard now, then choosing between repairs that control it and abatement that removes it.
Euless grew from 4,263 residents in 1960 to 19,316 in 1970 (Wikipedia), and the ACS counts about 3,600 homes from the 1960s and 3,200 from the 1970s. About a third of the city’s housing was built before 1980, and about 60% of occupied homes are rented (ACS 2020–2024). Part of DFW Airport lies inside the city limits.

In this example, the owners of a 1960s house in Euless have four hall doors that stick and rub their frames. Paint chips collect on the oak floor under the hinge side, and a test shows lead paint on the doors, stops and casings.
Euless homes from its 1960s boom may still have original painted wood windows, door frames and interior trim, and 1970s houses may have painted stair railings or wood paneling. Houses from 1978 and 1979 sit in the same census bracket but outside the federal lead rules, so the exact build year matters. Testing the surfaces you plan to work on answers the question for those parts, and our page on lead-painted doors and door frames explains the choices for those surfaces.
Rentals and apartments
About 14,400 occupied homes in Euless are rented. If one of those rentals predates 1978, every new lease brings the federal disclosure paperwork, and any paid repair that disturbs paint, whether the owner, a manager or a hired painter does it, falls under EPA’s RRP certification and lead-safe practices. We did not find an official Euless rental registration program, so check with the city about local requirements. Our rental property lead hazard control page explains the federal side.
Risk assessment
For a home or unit with people living in it, a DSHS-certified risk assessor examines the paint, tests what is deteriorated, takes dust wipes from floors and sills and samples bare soil, then writes up the hazards with options to control or abate them. Our lead risk assessment page explains what to expect from the report.
Abatement and clearance testing
When a hazard needs a permanent fix, abatement by a DSHS-certified firm removes or encloses the lead-based paint, with notice to DSHS at least seven working days before work starts and occupants out until it is done. Clearance testing by a certified inspector or risk assessor then confirms the rooms are clean. See interior lead paint abatement for the methods.
Euless housing age
Euless sits in Tarrant County between Dallas and Fort Worth, in the area known as the Mid-Cities. Its population grew about 353% in the 1960s, then kept climbing to 38,149 by 1990. The 1980s account for the most homes standing today, about 7,300, all of them outside the federal lead rules.
Older houses are a smaller group but still a sizable one: about 5,200 Euless homes were built before 1970, roughly 20% of the total, and about 1,500 before 1960 (ACS 2020–2024). We found no public source that maps them by neighborhood, so the build year of each property is the starting point.
Our research turned up no official Euless page covering lead paint, rental inspections or permits for windows and doors, and the third-party summaries we read were not reliable enough to repeat. Before replacing doors, windows or siding, ask the city whether a permit is needed. Any city requirement sits alongside the federal disclosure and RRP rules and the DSHS abatement rules, not in place of them.
Were homes built in Euless in the 1960s painted with lead paint?
They may have been. Texas DSHS says housing built before 1978 must be assumed to contain lead-based paint unless testing documents otherwise. Whether a particular 1960s Euless house still has lead paint depends on what has been repainted, stripped or replaced since, and only testing tells you which surfaces.
Does Euless require rental inspections?
We could not confirm a rental registration or inspection program from an official City of Euless source, so ask the city directly. Federal lead disclosure applies to pre-1978 rentals whatever the city requires.
Who does lead risk assessments in Texas?
Only assessors holding a state certificate. In Texas that certificate comes from DSHS, whose lead program also licenses inspectors, abatement firms and their workers. Before hiring anyone, look the name up with the program’s Find a Licensee search, or call 512-834-6787.
Closer to Dallas, Farmers Branch built most of its older homes in the 1950s; see lead paint removal in Farmers Branch for rentals, rebuilds and its city programs.
